Foods Good for Building Muscle Mass
Nuts may not be everyone’s idea of a good food to aid in their aim to have muscle growth. Surprisingly, it is. It has great benefits far beyond most of us could imagine. Almost all kinds of nuts from pistachio, walnuts, cashews, almonds and hazelnuts are rich sources of protein, fiber, natural plant omega-3 polyunsaturated fats and antioxidants like Vitamins B and E, selenium and magnesium. Aside from helping in building muscle, it is also good to combat heart diseases and diabetes.
A very convenient source of protein is in a packed can available in almost all supermarkets, big or small. Tuna is a great source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids. It doesn’t even have to be prepared in a build muscle special way as it can stand on its own. But, of course, it is important to take notice that only the canned tuna in brine or water is good. Other canned tuna in oil or mayo should be avoided. Otherwise, it defeats the purpose of serving proteins without traces of carbohydrates.
